The Lost Wages Football League is a fantasy league predicated upon head-to-head competition between league franchise owners. The object of the game is to draft and start players who will score the most points for an owner's team. Players can be selected from any individuals on NFL teams.

I. The Draft

The draft will be twelve rounds in length. The draft order for the first round will be determined by drawing lots and this same order applies to the first and all subsequent odd numbered rounds. For even numbered rounds, draft selections will be in reverse order. There are no requirements concerning when player positions must be selected; however, by the completion of the eleventh round, each owner must have selected 2 Quarterbacks, 3 Running Backs, 4 Receivers, 1 Kicker, and 1 Defense. During the twelfth round, each owner will have an extra pick and may select a player at any position or an additional defense if they wish.

Multi-position players (e.g., players listed as RB/WR, QB/RB, etc.) must be designated by the owner drafting them as playing one position, only.

II. Draft Time Limit

There is a ten minute time frame for selecting a draft pick. If an owner goes over that time limit, the next person in line may pick; however, the owner can make a selection at any time after being passed.

III. Draft Position

The computer will randomly select each team's draft position.

IV. Line-Up Declaration

Owners must designate a complete starting line-up using one of the following options:

1 Quarterback, 2 Running Backs, 4 Receivers, 1 Kicker, 1 Defense or
1 Quarterback, 3 Running Back, 3 Receivers, 1 Kicker, 1 Defense or
1 Quarterback, 1 Running Back, 5 Receivers, 1 Kicker, 1 Defense

Players starting for an owner must be designated prior to kickoff of the game in which the player is involved. It is the responsibility of each owner to set their own lineup on the website. If there is a technical problem with the website and an owner cannot set their lineup, the lineup must be submitted to the Commissioner. If for some reason the Commissioner cannot be reached, the owner must contact at least one other LWFL owner with this information, preferably one of them being your opponent.

If an owner doesn’t fill a valid roster because they didn’t bother to bench a player on a bye, on IR, or a player officially ruled out of a game a full day before game time, that owner shall be charged $10 for each inactive player in their starting lineup.

Your entire starting line-up does not have to be declared if only a portion of your team is involved in early games; however, the remainder of your line-up must be declared before kickoff of the games in which your players are involved.

Once a players game has started, he cannot be removed or added to an owners lineup until the current week is over.

V. Scoring

Offensive points are awarded only to starting players scoring a touchdown, field goal, or PAT. Scoring plays are weighted according to distance, i.e., the longer the scoring play the more points awarded. The NFL web site (www.nfl.com) will be the official scoring reference for the LWFL.

Defensive Point Differential

14 points

Based on the following formula: 14 points minus points allowed by the defensive team until your defense equals 0 points. i.e. your defense cannot score negative points. Note: points scored against the team's offense (i.e. your team's QB throws a pick 6) does not count against your defense.

Points for Yardage

Quarterbacks - for each 300 yards thrown in a game : 3 points
Quarterbacks - for each 100 yards gained (rushing or receiving) : 3 points
Quarterbacks - one point for every 20 yards thrown after 300 yards
Quarterbacks - one point for every 10 yards gained (rushing or receiving) after 100 yards

Running Backs - for each 100 yards gained (rushing or receiving) : 3 points
Running Backs - one point for every 10 yards gained (rushing or receiving) after 100 yards

Wide Receivers - for each 100 yards gained (receiving or rushing) : 3 points
Wide Receivers - one point for every 10 yards gained (rushing or receiving) after 100 yards

Special Scoring for Kickers

If a kicker fakes a field goal and runs or throws a TD, it will be scored using the RB or QB scoring system.

VI. Three Player Scoring Plays

Denver scores: Walker 5 yard lateral from Thomas, pass from Manning. Scoring will be awarded as follows:

Total play covers - 26 yards
Quarterback Manning - 26 yard passing TD = 8 points
Walker and Thomas - 26 yard receiving TD = 10 points, split 5 points each.

VII. Fumble Recoveries

Fumbles recovered in the endzone by offensive players will be scored as a one (1) yard run (i.e., six points), unless scored differently on the NFL web site.

If a player picks up a fumble from a runner or receiver and scores, the player who recovered the fumble gets points as a RB from the point of the fumble.

VIII. Lost Wages Football Week

Each week of the Lost Wages Football League will end 12 midnight on Monday night. The LWFL does not follow the typical calendar week.

IX. Weekly Wins and Losses

Each week, head-to-head competition between owners will determine a winner and loser. Each loser will pay $6 to the league funds. In the event of a tie, each owner will pay $3. The high scorer for the week will receive $12 and the second high scorer will receive $9. The remaining balance of monies collected will go to the league fund.

X. Transactions

Transactions are available to all team owners to improve a team or to compensate for injuries and bye-picks.

i) Free Agents - All un-drafted players are included in a free agent pool.

ii) Bye-Picks - A modified form of free agent acquisition for players on a team with a bye. Bye-picks will be allowed for any position and this player must be used in the owner's starting lineup for that week. An owner can only bye-pick a player if the owner is unable to fill-out their starting line-up due to a bye-week.

If an owner has an available player on their bench that is able to fill a slot, that player must be used instead of using a bye-pick. For example, you cannot bye-pick a WR if you have a WR or RB on your bench who can fill an empty slot. However, if the player on your bench is unavailable due to injury, and no other players are available to fill a slot, you can use a bye pick to replace a player on a bye. Note: the injured player on your bench must be ruled out of his game. The player is deemed 'available' even if he is designated as 'questionable' or 'doubtful'. He must be officially ruled out of his game to be an 'unavailable' player.

All bye-picks will be automatically dropped at 9 pm on Tuesday unless the Commissioner is notified otherwise.

iii) Trades - Trading players and draft picks is allowed. Trades will be subject to a 2-day voting period by the leauge. Trades receiving more than 4 objections will not be allowed. The Commissioner still has the right to void any trade deemed detrimental to the integrity of the LWFL.

iv) The Free Agent List - The free agent list on the web site is locked at 10 AM on Sunday and remains so until the current week ends (12 midnight on Monday). If an owner wishes to make a transaction while the free agent list is locked, he must email or phone the commissioner to do so. A transaction is awarded to whomever calls or emails first. Once the free agent list is unlocked, all transactions must be made using the web site. Transactions by email or phone to the Commissioner are not allowed while the free agent list is open unless there is a problem with the web site and online transactions are not possible.

XI. Commissioner Transactions

Transactions made by the acting Commissioner while the free agent list is locked must be verified by another owner in the league. The Commissioner may call any owner. The owner who communicates with the Commissioner will record the date, time, and player(s) involved. This information will appear on the transactions page when the Commissioner updates the site.

XII. Transaction Fees

Once a team is officially eliminated from finishing in the top 4 spots, transactions are free for that team.

Weeks 0-6 $5 per player
Weeks 7-12 $8 per player
Weeks 13+ $11 per player
Trades
Weeks 0-6 $5 per player
Weeks 7-12 $8 per player

i) Total points scored during the season
ii) Head-to-head competition
iii) Victories against top four (4) owners
iv) Points scored during head-to-head competition

XIV. LWFL Schedule

Each year, the Commissioner will determine the LWFL schedule by drawing lots.

XV. Franchise Fee

The League franchise fee is $180 per team. The extra $30 is an incentive for hosting the league on Sunday (or Monday). When an owner hosts, the $30 will be applied toward their league expenses.

XVI. Payout of League Funds

All owners whom owe money to the league must pay the Commissioner starting the day after Super Bowl Sunday. There will be a penalty for late payment. Interest of 10% will be charged every 30 days following the Super Bowl. The interests will be distributed to all of the winners based on the payout percentages. Payouts are as follows:

20%
  Second Highest Point Total

XVII. Playoffs

Playoff fees are an additional $15 assessed at the end of the regular season. This assessment is due and payable at the end of the regular season and is to be used to form a winner-take-all pool. All rosters are frozen at the conclusion of the regular season. The winner of the playoff pool is the owner accumulating the most points throughout the playoffs and Superbowl. In the event of a tie, the playoff pool is divided equally among those owners.

XVIII. Commissioner Obligations

i) The Commissioner will be reachable by phone until at least 10:00 AM on Sundays.
ii) Results for the previously completed week will be posted on the league web site (www.LWfootball.com) no later than Tuesday, 10pm.
iii) If unavailable during a week or weekend, the Commissioner will select an owner to assume his duties during this period, from the league owners.

XIX. Changes in the LWFL Bylaws

Amending the LWFL bylaws requires majority agreement among the LWFL owners, i.e., 6 of the 10 owners in the league must agree to the proposed change.
